About Tarence “TK” Kinsey

Tarence “TK” Kinsey is a professional basketball player from Tampa, Florida. He was a star player for Thomas Jefferson High School before playing at the University of South Carolina where he led the team to victory in two NIT Championships including one of his most recognized college career highlights- hitting the game-winning three-point buzzer-beater in 2005.

TK continued his basketball career playing in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers. For 12 years, he played overseas with professional leagues in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Israel, and Serbia, leading his teams to ten international championships and countless other awards.

TK came out of Hillsborough County, traveled the world, and has returned to Tampa to pay it forward. In 2009, TK started his 501 (C)3 nonprofit, The Tarence Kinsey Foundation. The Foundation helps underprivileged students and athletes in Hillsborough County to recognize their potential, develop life skills, and gain exposure to college coaches so they can attain scholarship opportunities.

TK is also focused on increasing visibility for college players. He is a part-owner and a member of the board of trustees for the Tampa Bay Pro Combine, a tournament that brings some of the top college basketball players in the country to his hometown to play for NBA agents, scouts, and general managers during a three-day event.

“I want to give a last look opportunity to these kids. That’s what got me into college”
